An anonymous authority reports that it takes 70,276 drops of water to fill a gallon bucket. Once full, the observer had a bucket full of water instead of a bucket full of drops.
Perhaps it's another way of saying that the little things in life add up. They really count. Although you are only one in a world of several billion people, you are important. Your relationship to God, friends, family, and church make a difference.
Never think that you're just a drop in the bucket, but the last drop that makes it full. And withou that final drop it measures less than a gallon.
You are important to God. Jesus says in Matthew 10:30, "But the very hairs of your head are numbered." Ann Ross
Thank you, Father, for caring for me. I'm sorry for when I doubt myself, or belittle myself in my mind. I'm sorry for the little "pity parties" and feeling so inconsequential at times, Lord. At times I feel like what I do each day doesn't matter to anyone or I'm not having any affect on others. Please forgive me and help me be a stronger person, Father. I thank you for blessing me with so much.......too much to count. I love you, Lord. In Jesus name, Amen

RACHAEL WEEPING FOR HER CHILDREN
WISE MEN STILL SEEK HIM

THE WISE MEN AND HEROD
Read Matthew 2:1–12 & Micah 5:2
When he had called together all the people's chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Christ was to be born. "In Bethlehem in Judea," they replied, "for this is what the prophet has written: Matthew 2:4–5 NIV

I know I haven't been here in a little while. Sorry. I was posting on my regular blog and thought it showed up here, but I see it didn't(smile). That's ok.....now, I know.
The reason for my title.....a lady friend from church asked me to read "The Shack" and give her my opinion. Well, I finished it up today & I'm just not real sure how I feel about it. I think it's one of those books one must "digest" before forming an opinion. Does that make sense? First....all I can say right now is I thought it was a very good "story". Some of it I did not agree with..&..some of it was very, very good. One part really grabbed me where he wrote about Adam's death expelled the very breath of God. That never occurred to me...until reading that and remembering that God breathed into Adam to bring him alive & putting it all together, just made me go WoW!
So, I guess my question is this...."Has anyone here read this book & do you have an opinion you would like to share?" "What did you get out of it?"
We walked in our snow shoes for an hour and ten minutes this morning.
Here's what we saw from our bedroom window when we arose:
Here's a scene along Wilson Avenue:
REVEALER OF HEARTS
SIMEON
Read Luke 2:21-40
Then Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, his mother: "This child is destined… to be a sign that will be spoken against, so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your own soul too." Luke 2:34–35 NIV
I have been writing a series of posts about Bible verses I wrote on our cement floor, before our new home's floors were covered with carpet or vinyl.
Here's today's verse, found on the furnace room floor:
"I saw some gifts with my name on it. Why didn't you ever give me those gifts on earth?"
Jesus replied, "You never asked for those."
God has many wonderful gifts to give us, not the least of which is the gift of faith. But we need to do something to receive it, to fan it into flame.
It's right there inside us, all along, we just need to fan it into flame.
What are you waiting for?
TIDINGS OF JOY
"Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord." Luke 2:10–11 NKJV
Meanwhile, out in the nearby fields, a lowly group of shepherds are in for a big surprise. Suddenly an angel appears in the night sky surrounded by the glory of the Lord. He announces, “There is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. "(Luke 2:11 NKJV) Lonely quiet places - this stable - those fields - where all of history would be changed. Even today we date our lives from this event.
Well, in the past two days, I've taken you inside the front door of our new home, and into the living room, so today, we enter the dining room.
Here's the verse I wrote on the cement floor of that room before the vinyl flooring went down over it:
Whatever we do, let us glorify God in it.
Jesus often broke bread with his disciples, with sinners and tax collectors, people on the fringes of society and the high and mighty, too.
Set an extra plate at your table for Jesus, who is present at every meal, in his risen power.
Welcome him into your home, your living room, your dining room, and let His peace fill you up.
We walk around our new home and in every room, we are "standing on the promises of God."
Sola gloria dei!
